4-Day Meditation Retreat in Marshall, North Carolina, taught by authentic monks and nuns
Are you keen to learn meditation and be in a spiritual environment with like-minded persons? In this retreat, you will be learning directly from experienced yoga monks and nuns.
We are pleased to inform you about our next retreat. It will be held in beautiful environments in the Ananda Girisuta ashram near Ashville in North Carolina from March 10-13, 2022.
As usual, we will focus on the eight limbs of Raja Yoga (Patanjali’s Astaunga yoga), with the main focus on meditation (dhyana) and various elements that will help you to improve your concentration and meditate deeper. You will also be introduced to a mantra and Kiirtan for enhanced concentration and spiritual feeling.
You will learn meditation from scratch, and all the ins and outs will be explained, and collective meditation will be conducted four times a day. In addition, you will enjoy a gentle yoga class every morning and evening, meditation theory and philosophy classes, nature walks, learning sattvic (pure) vegan cooking, and much more. All classes will be taught in English.
All this will be taught in a safe and loving environment, and you will be guided step by step by experienced monks and nuns. The retreat is designed in such a way that it is suitable for beginners as well as advanced meditators. Do not miss this unique opportunity!
The food is delicious and nutritious vegan dishes prepared by us, and everyone will get a chance to be in the kitchen and learn the art of sattvic cooking.

Let us introduce ourselves:
Didi Ananda Acirá
Didi is a yogic nun of Ananda Marga with 16 years of teaching experience in various countries in Southeast Asia and North America.
She loves to meditate and is very passionate about making the earth greener, a healthy lifestyle, and arts.
At the moment, Didi is based in northern California at Ananda Dhiira Retreat Center. She conducts different kinds of retreats, loves doing agriculture, and works with volunteers.
Dada Satyamitrananda has been a yogic monk since the year 2000. He worked 16 years in South East Asia and has been in North and Central America since 2016. He is currently based in Guatemala.
Dada is very passionate about meditation, yoga, tantra, and everything related to it. He loves to teach, and in 2007 he founded the ‘Ánanda Márga Yoga Academy’ in Singapore, which later received the status as a college. Dada loves music and always travels with his guitar.
Didi Ananda Hitaprabha
Didi Ananda Hitaprabha has been a yoga missionary and nun of Ananda Marga for nine years. She has been working in the Philippines, Vietnam, and North America. Currently, she runs the Ananda Priiti Meditation Centre near San Antonio, Texas, which offers regular yoga and meditation retreats and various volunteer programs. Didi loves to engage herself in social service projects, and she currently facilitates the very popular ‘Online Kiirtan for the Universe.’

We reserve the right to cancel a program at any time. If we do so, you will be given a minimum of 1 week’s notice and receive a full refund. Cancellations may also be transferred to other programs organized by us.
Refunds are available (less a $100 admin and processing fee) up to fourteen days before the start date of the program. If cancellation occurs between fourteen and three days (72 hours) before the start date of the program, your fee can be transferred to any other program (less a $100 cancellation fee) within one year. No credits or refunds are available for cancellations three days or less before the start date of a program, for no-shows, or for leaving an event early. People canceling 14 days or less before starting a program can also transfer their space and fee to an unregistered participant. Please allow seven days for the processing of fees.
We want everyone to stay safe during these Pandemic times. In case you contract Covid19, test positive, and need to cancel your participation in our retreat, we will give you a full refund of the retreat fees (minus Stripe processing fees if you have paid with a credit or debit card through Stripe.)
We strive to maintain a safe environment during the ongoing health crisis. In response to the sudden increase in COVID cases, we see it necessary to introduce a rapid COVID test upon arrival. This test fee is included in the retreat fee. We are unfortunately not able to accommodate anyone who tests positive.
Should you notice any signs of COVID before you leave your home, or if you have been exposed in the last 14 days to anyone with COVID-19 or been exposed to an area with COVID-19 outbreaks or rapidly rising cases, we strongly recommend you take a test before you begin the journey. Should this test show positive, you must stay at home and inform us asap. The expense of this test will be on your account.
Our trainers and staff are also being required to take Covid tests.
- We will maintain thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and ventilation protocols throughout our facility.
- We will provide hand sanitizer stations and lots of soap and water to wash hands frequently.
You will choose another time to attend our retreat:
- If you are ill
- If you have been exposed in the last 14 days to anyone with COVID-19 or been exposed to an area with COVID-19 outbreaks or rapidly rising cases
- You will wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer if needed
- Prior to your arrival, we will ask you to sign our COVID-19 Waiver.
